Take a hike Ike!

Hi all! Just wanted to post briefly that Jake, Joshua, Ranger and I are all okay after Hurricane Ike's visit to Houston. We lost power early yesterday morning around 6 am and it has just now come back on. We left our house yesterday evening and came to my parent's place in Lexington so we could have hot meals and air conditioning (it was way too hot at our house for me and Joshua!). The damage to our house is very minimal - lost a few shingles and our fence came apart on one side of the yard, but really we got very lucky!! All of our families are okay too. As of now my folks still don't have power so they will probably stay in Lexington for at least another day or so. It seems like most everyone we know lost some trees and some shingles and had fence damage but overall I think we all came out okay....LUCKILY! Thanks to everyone for checking on us and our prayers are with those who are still displaced from their homes and those who have a lot of rebuilding to do.
