Roadtrip to the Poths!!

As you all know, last weekend Jake and I went to South Carolina to visit with Kristi and Lex. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! We flew into Charlotte, NC and rented a car to drive up to Simpsonville, SC where Kristi and Lex live. We had some time to kill Friday after our flight got into Charlotte so we of course found a barbecue place first and had some good ol' Carolina Barbecue for lunch - this usually means pulled pork, hush puppies and SWEET tea. It was so good!! I don't like hush puppies that much, but these were like cake they were SO GOOD!! And of course the barbecue was wonderful too - and this is from a Texas girl so you know it had to have been good! With our handy dandy map the rental car company gave us (thanks Enterprise) we found a mall in downtown Charlotte and just walked around there, bought Jake some sunglasses at Dick's (it's a sporting good store there) and then started to make our way to the Poths. It's really so easy to get to their town from Charlotte - of course, when it's pouring down rain on you it takes a little longer then the hour and a half it normally would. Three hours later (thanks to the rain) we are finally at their house!! So Kristi and Lex took us out on the town in downtown Greenville, we ate at a fabulous Italian restaurant and got to shop at one of the little stores there too. It is such a neat town!! And much bigger then I thought. The next day we woke up to a delicious breakfast prepared by Kristi and Lex themselves!! After stuffing our bellies we met up with their friends Sarah and Ryan (and their dog Haley) and the six of us (and two dogs) headed off on our 5 mile hike. We stopped and had a nice picnic lunch on the way to the mountains. Again rain followed us and by the end of the hike we were all soaked!! But it was still a ton of fun and the gorgeous view at the top was worth it. We finished up Saturday night with some yummy pizza and board games and then Sunday just hung out with Kristi, Lex and Gino!! It was sad when it came time to leave because we were enjoying ourselves so much!! Thank you so much to Kristi and Lex for being such wonderful hosts!! Jake and I highly recommend visiting up there - they take great care of you!! :) Here are some pics of our fun!!
